2nd Keub (Grade) Red Belt Requirements

  Bhang Geom Sool (Defense against knife) 1-7

1st stripe

  1. Bhang Geom 1 Sool –  Opponent has the knife in their right hand. They step forward to thrust the knife into your abdomen. You step to the outside with your left foot assuming a sitting stance and execute a left knife-hand block to their wrist,  shifting into a left forward stance, followed by a right ridge hand to their nose.
  2. Bhang Geom 2 Sool –  Opponent has the knife in their right hand. They step forward to thrust the knife into your abdomen. You step to the outside with your left foot assuming a sitting stance and execute a left knife-hand block to their wrist, grab their wrist and push down and the momentum will also push make them bow forward, and execute a hammer fist strike to the back of their neck.
  3. Bhang Geom 3 Sool –   Opponent has the knife in their right hand. They step forward to thrust the knife into your abdomen. You step to the outside with your left foot assuming a sitting stance and execute a left knife-hand block to their wrist, then push their knife forward away from you and then execute a bow wrist attack to their lower ribs.
  4. Bhang Geom 4 Sool –  Opponent lunges forward to stab your abdomen, you step back about a half step, execute an+ x block downward, capture their wrist, turning it clockwise while bending towards them, and then execute a front kick to their solar plexus.
  5. Bhang Geom 5 Sool –  Opponent steps forward with their right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step forward with your right foot while blocking with your left outside knife-hand block. Pull your right hand back to your right, palm up, strike the opponent’s throat with a flat fist strike.
  6. Bhang Geom 6 Sool – Opponent steps forward with their right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step to the left with your left foot while blocking with a left high block. Grab the opponent’s right hand with your right hand. Execute a left knife-hand pushing block down on the back of their elbow pinning them down.
  7. Bhang Geom 7 Sool –  Opponent steps forward with their right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing an x block downward, left hand on top. Circle opponents counter-clockwise with your right hand, grab their hand and twist until the knife is at the 12 positions, grab with both hands thumbs on the back of their hand, take them down by kneeling on your left knee while pushing their hand back toward them and take the knife.

  Bhang Kum Sool (Defense against knife) 8-14

2nd  stripe

  • Bhang Geom 8 Sool –  Opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing an x block right hand on top, circle their hand clockwise until the knife is at 12. Grab the opponent’s right hand with your thumbs on the back of the hand, push forward on the wrist while kneeling to take them to the ground.
  • Bhang Geom 9 Sool –  Opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing a double downward block, grabbing their top of hand thumbs on the back of their hand, circle the opponent’s arm counter-clockwise while stepping in with your left foot, turning 180 degrees. Kneel on your left knee throwing them by bringing their right arm down and then striking their elbow with a palm strike.
  • Bhang Geom 10 Sool – The opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing a double low block, grab the top of their hand with your hand’s thumbs on the back of the hand. Sweep your left foot counter-clockwise while bringing the opponent’s right arm over your head-turning the knife into their body.
  • Bhang Geom 11 Sool – The opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing a double low block, grab the top of their hand with your hand’s thumbs on the back of the hand. Sweep your left leg counter-clock, pull their right arm over your right shoulder while applying pressure to their wrist. Throw them over your shoulder, and breaking their wrist, and take the knife.
  • Bhang Geom 12 Sool – The opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing a double low block, grab the top of their hand with your hand’s thumbs on the back of the hand. Step back with your left foot while executing a double downward block. Push down with your right hand on your right hand. Step in front of their left foot with your left foot while pulling his right arm across your chest. Grab around the opponent’s back with your left hand. Throw them over your left hip, kneeling on their neck, and take the knife.
  • Bhang Geom 13 Sool –  The opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing a double low block, grab the top of their hand with your hand’s thumbs on the back of the hand. Step back with your left foot while executing a double downward block. Step back with your left foot while executing a double low block, grab the top of their hand with your hand’s thumbs on the back of the hand. Twist their hand until the palm is facing up while pushing their arm in front of their body. Step with your left placing it in front of their left foot. Pull the opponent’s arm over your left shoulder while continuing to apply pressure to their wrist. Throw the opponent over your shoulder, kneel on their right arm and take the knife.
  • Bhang Geom 14 Sool –  The opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your left foot while executing a double low block, grab the top of their hand with your hand’s thumbs on the back of the hand. Step back with your left foot while executing a double downward block. Grab the opponent’s hand with your left hand. Step forward with your left foot, execute a right palm strike to their right shoulder, as you bring your right leg behind their right leg, and throw them by sweeping behind their right leg with your right leg. Kneel on their right arm with your right knee and take the knife.

  Bhang Kum Sool (Defense against knife) 15-21

3rd  stripe

  1. Bhang Geom 15 Sool –  The opponent steps forward with his right foot and lunges at your stomach with a knife. Step back with your right foot while executing a double downward block. Grab the top of their hand with yours. Step with your left foot, placing it behind them. Pull the opponent’s right arm over your right shoulder and grab behind their left leg with your left hand. Lift and throw them over your right shoulder, kneel on their right arm and take the knife.
  2. Bhang Geom 16 Sool – Opponent steps forward with their right foot while slashing at your head with the knife. Step to the left with your left foot while ducking. Opponent comes back with his knife, execute a left knife-hand block to their right elbow and grab their right wrist with your right “Ki grip” and pin them with your left arm at their right elbow.  
  3. Bhang Geom 17 Sool – Opponent steps forward with their right foot while slashing at your head with the knife. Step to the left with your left foot while ducking. Opponent comes back with his knife, executes a right knife-hand block to their elbow, grabs their right wrist with their left hand and grabs their right elbow with your right hand, pull their wrist toward you, bending their elbow. And pinning their arm behind their back and taking the knife.
  4. Bhang Geom 18 Sool –  opponent steps forward with his right foot while slashing at your head with his knife step to the left with your left foot while ducking to avoid the knife opponent comes back with his knife hand execute a double block to the opponent’s right elbow grab opponents’ right arm with both hands step in front of the opponent’s right foot with your left foot pull opponents arm over your left shoulder throw opponent over your left shoulder nail on his right arm and take the knife.
  5. Bhang Geom 19 Sool –  opponent steps forward with his right foot while slashing at your head with his knife step to the left avoid the life comes back with his knife execute a double block to the opponent right grab the opponent between the collarbone and neck on both sides take the opponent down by pulling him back with your hands while kicking behind his right knee with your right reverse sidekick.
